The Riverfront Run 5K run and 1-mile walk benefit the Southwest Georgia Cancer Care Fund,
a sub fund of the Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition.

The run/walk will be held Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 8:30 a.m.
 5K Run begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. / 1-mile walk begins at 9:30 a.m.

Awards will also be presented to the overall male and female winners
as well as to the top three men/women in the following age divisions:
10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+

Packet Pickup / Registration:
There will be no pre-race packet pick-up for the RiverFront Run this year. All runners will receive their race numbers on the day of the race. T-shirts and goody bags will be given out as runners cross the finish line. Pre-registration is available online at active.com or registration forms can be picked up at area locations and mailed into the Cancer Coalition.

Race Day Registration: Race Day Registration will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Why You Should You Become Involved? Because two-thirds of all cancer deaths can be avoided through prevention and early detection, we are working to involve the entire Southwest Georgia community in this event. It is our intention to promote cancer prevention through education and giving attention to exercise and a healthy life style. Taking place in the newly renovated downtown Riverfront Park, this fundraising event will benefit the Southwest Georgia Cancer Care Fund.
 

The Course:

Runners will begin on Broad Avenue, just next to the Hilton Garden Inn, then, turn right on Washington, left on Flint, left on Jackson and then right onto Broad Avenue. Continue up Broad, right on N. Harding and the last right onto Pine Avenue to the finish line near the new Flint RiverQuarium.
