According to the recent published data, 35% of cancer in the United States is related to diet/obesity and sedentary lifestyles,” Jose Tongol, MD, Oncologist and Founder of the Southwest Georgia Cancer Care Fund said. “We created the RiverFront Run to encourage everybody to get moving toward a healthier lifestyle.”

Be a part of the Riverfront Run 5K race and 1-mile walk to benefit the Southwest Georgia Cancer Care Fund. The run/walk will be held Saturday, October 6, in downtown Albany.
     All registrants will receive a race T-shirt and Goody Bag.
All Runners and Walkers are eligible for Door Prizes.
 Accurate shirt size with race designation is guaranteed only to pre-registration participants.

TEAM PARTICIPATION
We are encouraging runners and walkers to form a team and dedicate the race to benefit the Cancer Care Fund. Teams are composed of five members or more, with each team member raising $100. While we encourage team members to raise money for the Cancer Care Fund, it is not a requirement to participate.

Members running as a team receive special recognition of their efforts. Challenge your coworkers, your soccer team, your neighbors and run or walk to fight cancer in Southwest Georgia! The team raising the most money and the team with the most participants will receive a special award.
 

INDIVIDUAL ENTRY FEES:
5K Run Adults - $15, $20 on race day
5K Run Child (16 and under) - $10, $15 on race day
1 Mile Walk Adults - $15, $20 on race day
1 Mile Walk Child (16 and under) - $10, $15 on race day
Run/Walk FREE for Cancer Survivors
Family Rate > 2 adults/2 children $40 (each additional child is $5)

Packet Pickup/Race Day Registration
There will be no pre-race packet pick-up for the RiverFront Run this year. All runners will receive their race numbers on the day of the race. T-shirts and goody bags will be given out as runners cross the finish line. Pre-registration is available online at active.com or registration forms can be picked up at area locations and mailed into the Cancer Coalition. 

Race day registration is available -cost for adults will be $20 and children $15.

Race-day registration will be available at the RiverFront Park beginning at 6:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.  Sorry, packets can't be mailed.

Safety
For the safety of all runners, walkers and wheelers:
NO bicycles, baby joggers, strollers, skate boards, roller blades
or roller skates are allowed on the course, and violators may be removed. Sorry- no pets allowed.
